Tiny GOLD Hoops with Teardrop OPALS (OCTOBER BIRTHSTONE) 24K GOLD VERMEIL

Our October birthstone is OPAL, and once again we have some lovely gemstones to use in our earrings and necklaces! This is our first time offering Opals with some of our traditional designs and they look absolutely amazing!

These tiny forged GOLD hoops have our newest Teardrop Opals wired into their centers. These are light and dreamy and can be enjoyed for their colors even if they aren't your birthstone! And of course, they make great gifts!

"Opal" comes from the Sanskrit word upala, which means "precious stone." This comes from the stories from ancient India, which said the Mother Goddess changed the virgin Goddess of the Rainbow into a stone to save her from the amorous attentions of three gods. The word was adopted in Latin during Roman times as opalus. It is said that precious opal, with its display of fire, can spark creativity, and that the "dance" of its fire can help people enjoy their lives. The gemstone has been associated with the sacral chakra, imbalances of which can cause problems with addictions. 

These hoops are made with GOLD VERMEIL! ( GOLD VERMEIL is a premier version of a thick electro-plating of 23.5 karat Gold over a solid Sterling Silver base- it's the right solution for us to provide everyone who wants their 永 pieces in GOLD that are durable, beautiful, and affordable! Still, we recommend that you wear these pieces gently and thoughtfully. The Vermeil is a surface finish after all, and although these pieces are quite stable, wearing these items regularly in the shower, for example, or while swimming (where various chemicals or elements could be abrasive to the finish over time) or being too rough with them, like tossing them onto a nightstand, could definitely damage their beauty!
