Local and Lovely!

I've been making my list and checking it twice! I love shopping local and especially love supporting Vermont Made and Woman Owned businesses. I made a quick list of some of my favorites and stopped at a dozen before it got too long but I could go on and on! So many of these wonderful women have studios in my building (some even on my floor!) and many are also available in Thirty Odd downstairs, on the South End corner of the Soda Plant. They are all are very active with their businesses and well stocked for the holidays! They all create amazing products that I love to give and that I would LOVE to receive! I've listed them alphabetically.

Abby Sews - Abby is a slow fashion designer with a focus on natural and sustainable fabrics. She is also my lovely neighbor down the hall and to the right. I have many of her tops and dresses, they are all so beautifully made. Check out her Instagram for current studio hours or to see where she's vending this holiday season.

Alkame Co - I just bought up some of Rachael's Tulsi Mint Hot Chocolate. One for a gift and one for me! I often drink her Sunshine Golden Milk. She has a great space downstairs in the middle of the Soda Plant. Her teas, tonics and bath products are made using high quality, ethically sourced ingredients and are designed to bring more joy, ease and good health to your life.

Amber of Boheme Botanika is a powerhouse of herbal product making! I've tried many of her elixirs and teas and can't wait to try more! You can find her products online and I believe she's doing the City Hall weekend Markets for the rest of the month! All her herbs are lovingly grown by her using organic gardening practices or ethically foraged throughout New England.

Explore Designs Emelia makes the most beautiful hand dyed silk garments. I love the tops and scarves I've bought from her. She has a big beautiful space down the hall from me and shares her space with Abby and several other wonderful makers. Kimonos, scarves, dresses, bandanas, scrunchies, re-explored vintage silk pieces and more are some of the colorful creations you will find from Explore. Each piece is individually hand dyed, cut and sewn in studio by Emelia. Inspired by a passion for travel, nature, and color.

Green Seed Herbals - I've known Heather for so long now, she's a dear friend. She has a small home-based herbal business nestled in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. I've been using her Rose Face Cream forever! She's been rockin' a CSA with other herbalists in the area and we are her Burlington pick up spot. She started Green Seed Herbals 27 years ago! She has a deep appreciation for wild plants, every place she's lived has inspired her curiosity and admiration for native plants and their traditional uses.

Grooves and Grain - Alyssa makes beautiful high end leather bags and wallets with a passion for sustainability and style. I have several of her bags, pouches and journals. She's always coming up with new nature - inspired designs. Her studio is downstairs in the Soda Plant, behind Thirty Odd. She does small batch releases and made to order customs. You can visit her studio or find her at local holiday shows!

K.B. Ceramics - Kate makes the most dreamy pottery. I have quite the collection of her mugs and bowls. I just love her work, color choices and bohemian motifs. All work is hand thrown in small batches which allows each piece to have its own personality and character. She has spent the last 18 years honing her throwing skills, and her focus is on creating pieces that are well balanced and inviting to use. Kate's hope is to inspire people to take moments from their busy lives and enjoy the small things we do in each day. You can find her work at Thirty Odd.

Meadow Lane Macrame - Christel makes gorgeous macrame wall hangings, plant holders, key chains, earrings. She grows dozens of plants and flowers to use in her creations. The colors are carefully extracted and used to dye cotton and hemp string. She also forages locally for various nuts seeds and wildflowers that can lend their natural colors. Many of her pieces decorate my walls both at home and in my studio, I'm kind of obsessed!

Pepper Lee CBD - Allyson creates unique and inspired CBD hemp care products in small batches by hand, using Vermont-grown certified organic Cannabis flowers infused carefully with organic, cold-pressed carrier oils. She's also my studio neighbor! I've used most of her products and love them. For years I've used her lip balm exclusively on my lips, it works better than anything else!

Red House Bags Britt and her husband Matt make every bag by hand. Their search for independence led them out of the mainstream and into the Green Mountains, to pursue a path of honesty and authenticity. All their bags are made-to-order with intention and gratitude in a little studio tucked in the forests of Vermont. I have several bags and several pouches, I see so many Red House bags on women shopping in my studio!

Ritual Skincare - Katie is an internationally licensed esthetician, massage therapist, and herbalist and she created Ritual Skincare in celebration of mind, body, soul, and skin. By supporting the inherent systems that safeguard our wellbeing, Ritual Skincare empowers the rejuvenating qualities that make up healthier skin and happier souls. I've been lucky enough to enjoy a Facial from her in her beautiful Burlington studio and felt relaxed and radiant after!

Wolf Peach Fiona  is a Goddess in her own right and has created this magical brand of tonics fusing herbal medicine and culinary decadence. I especially love their Nectar of the Gods made of sea buckthorn. Her mission is to make tonic herbs delicious, desirable and easy to incorporate in food and drink on a daily basis.

Thanks for taking a look at a few of my faves, maybe some are new to you? Or maybe you already love them all too! Happy Shopping...
